About the department

On November 30, 2011, an X-ray unit with a successful endovascular operation was created in the Ternopil region.

On August 18, 2015, the Department of Cardiovascular and X-ray Endovascular Surgery was established.

The department is headed by surgeon O.B. Lugovoi, who has performed more than 12,000 operations, including angioplasty, stenting, embolization, and other interventions.

We provide qualified medical care and implement innovative treatment methods.

Over the course of 12 years, more than 12,000 patients havereceived specialized medical care. Surgical interventions are performed onpractically all vascular basins. In particular, balloon angioplasty andstenting of coronary arteries - about 600 operations annually, nearly 50endovascular operations on carotid arteries, over 10 on renal arteries andarteries of the lower extremities - about 200. Endovascular embolization ofuterine arteries - about 150 operations per year. In addition, about 200 operationsper year are performed for varicose vein disease using endovenous lasercoagulation, sclerotherapy, and radiofrequency ablation.

On February 23, 2018, for the first time in Ternopil Oblast,an open-heart surgery with artificial circulation was successfully performedbased on the department. Since then, more than 100 such operations have beencarried out, including aortocoronary bypass grafting, aortic, mitral, andtricuspid valve replacement, interatrial and interventricular septal plasticsurgery.

Since 2022, an electrophysiology laboratory has been putinto operation. Since then, over 50 interventions have been performed forrhythm disorders.

The department's team works daily to improve theirknowledge, practical skills, and abilities, actively implementing new treatmentstandards into practice.
